Teacher, Designer, and Technician

MY STORY

I am a teacher and artist. I create, explore, and live in a way that tells stories about how we think, learn, and live as a community.

 

Applying these ideas to Design and Technical teaching is important with the connection to modern and future technology. 

Past work includes 17 years of experience in Technical Direction, Scenic Design, Scenic painting, Props and Lighting.

PAST TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Fall 2022 and Spring 2023

Assistant Professor, Minnesota State University Moorhead

Adjunct Instructor. Classes include: Lighting and Design, Principles of Make-up for Stage and Film, Production Design (for Film) and Professional Seminar. 

Fall 2019 through

Two sections of Theatre Appreciation taught each semester. Scenic Shop supervision for safety training, scenic construction with the build, load in and strike of the scenery. Maintenance and organization of two performance spaces. Assistant Technical Direction as needed and Scenic Designer for She Loves Me spring 2022.

Fall 2012 through Spring 2015

Taught Stagecraft each fall, and then was responsible for maintaining scenic shops, two performance spaces, purchasing materials, safety and technique training for students, and the build, load in, and strike of all theatrical scenery and load in/out of additional events in the performance spaces. Scenic Design, Painting and Lighting Design as needed.

Assistant Instructor for Intro to Theatre: covering topics of safety, construction, and painting.

Responsible for two scenic designs for the academic year, managing the theatre facility with concerts, performance and events. Maintenance and safety training of students to run events and construction of scenery, lighting and sound.
